Students visit the media center on a 5-day rotation cycle. During their visit they receive information literacy instruction, enabling them to access, evaluate and use information in an ethical manner, as well as have the opportunity to borrow print/digital books and magazines.
The mission of the library media center is to serve the school community by creating a safe and inspiring space where students are encouraged to learn.
This is achieved by:
supporting the development of reading skills
promoting student driven inquiry and project based learning
building information and media literacy skills
introducing a wide variety of authors and genres
creating opportunities for creative and critical thinking
collaborating to provide services which support the curriculum
